
Dr. Rajit Ojha
Dr. Rajit Ojha is a distinguished engineering and policy leader from Nepal with over 19 years of service in the WASH sector. He currently serves as Chief of Service Regulation and Information Management Section at the Department of Water Supply and Sewerage Management (DWSSM), Government of Nepal.
He holds a PhD in Engineering from the University of Yamanashi, Japan, where his research focused on water governance, pricing, and environmental economics. He also earned a master’s in water supply engineering from UNESCO IHE, complemented by certifications in sustainability, environmental law, and WASH in emergencies.
Dr. Ojha’s expertise spans WASH governance, SDG localization, financing, and expenditure analysis. In his current role, he leads NWASH MIS, advancing georeferenced monitoring tools and pioneering AI applications for WASH data validation. Along with his WASH endeavors he is also a passionate writer and has recently published a political satire novel “I couldn’t cross the road”
